The Ito Region in Forza Horizon 6 is the go-to location for treasure hunt seasonal objectives, featuring canyons, hot springs, bamboo groves, and the iconic barrel roll ramps. This guide covers every treasure location in the region, how to trigger the treasure spawn, and the rewards for each hunt.
All Ito Region Treasure Locations
🏆 Permanent Canyon Treasure (always available)
Location: Eastern canyon wall, 200m northeast of the hot springs marker. A glowing chest on a cliff ledge ~30 feet above the river.
How to reach: Follow the dirt trail behind the bamboo grove. The game marks the spot with a gold beacon within 200 meters. Use a Jeep Wrangler or Ford Bronco with off-road tires — the climb is steep and loose.
Respawn: Every 24 hours in single-player, once per season in multiplayer.
🌸 Spring Treasure Hunt (seasonal)
Current season (Summer 2026): The map spawns a blurred treasure zone in the eastern Ito Region. Drive to the marked area and look for a glowing blue circle on the ground.
Required skill to spawn chest: Perform a Barrel Roll on the angled ramps. See the step-by-step guide below.
Reward: 1965 Meyers Manx dune buggy (seasonal exclusive).
🔥 Sotoyama Treasure Hunt
Location: Sotoyama shrine area, northern Ito Region. The chest spawns near the torii gate after you complete a Near Miss skill chain through the shrine's narrow alley.
Reward: 15,000 credits + wheelspin.
Step-by-Step: Spring Treasure Hunt
Step 1: Open the Treasure Map
Go to your Message Center in the pause menu. The Treasure Map should be in your inbox marked with a golden icon. Open it to reveal the blurred search zone in the eastern Ito Region. If you haven't received it, complete the first Spring Festival Playlist challenge (usually a simple Showcase Event or PR Stunt).
Step 2: Find the Skill Zone
Drive to the eastern Ito Region canyon. The blurred zone on the map corresponds to the dirt road that follows the canyon wall between the two hot spring markers. Look for a glowing blue circle on the ground — that's the skill activation zone.
Step 3: Perform the Barrel Roll
Within the blue circle, find the middle angled ramp (between the two hot spring markers). Approach at 120+ mph in an off-road vehicle. As you hit the ramp, steer slightly into the hillside — this creates the barrel roll rotation. You'll see "BARREL ROLL" on screen when it connects.
Need to repeat? Drive back down the canyon road and loop around. The blue circle stays active until you complete the skill.
Step 4: Collect the Treasure Chest
Once the barrel roll is complete, a glowing treasure chest spawns near the skill zone — usually on the cliff ledge above the ramp. Drive up the trail to reach it. Interact with the chest to claim the Meyers Manx and bonus credits.
