What Is Crash Landing in FH6?
Crash Landing is a special skill in Forza Horizon 6 that activates when your car lands on top of a rival vehicle during a Showcase Event. It rewards a massive skill score (5,000+ base) with a high multiplier, and it's a required objective in the Summer 2026 Festival Playlist.
The skill name shows up on-screen as "CRASH LANDING" with a bonus popup. You'll also see it in your skill chain history.
Step-by-Step: How to Get Crash Landing
Step 1: Pick the Right Showcase
Best option: Airport Showcase — the prop plane banks wide and slow through the first turn, giving you a huge target.
Second option: Canyon Chase (Jeep Showcase) — the Jeep follows a predictable path through the Ito Region canyons.
Avoid: The Greatest Showcase (too chaotic), River Run (boat moves through narrow tunnels), and Industrial Zone (train car roofs are too small).
Step 2: Equip the Right Car
Not every car can pull off a crash landing. You need:
Avoid low, stiff sports cars — they bounce off and miss the skill trigger.
Step 3: Execute the Landing
Airport Showcase method:
- Follow the prop plane normally through the first straight
- Just before the corner, let the plane pull 1-2 car lengths ahead
- Hit the dirt ramp on the inside of the turn at 140+ mph
- Steer toward the plane's fuselage in mid-air
- Aim for the center of the fuselage — the landing window is about 3 car widths
- The moment you touch down, you'll see "CRASH LANDING" pop up
Stay on the plane for 1-2 seconds to bank the skill, then drive off and finish the showcase normally.
Crash Landing vs Barrel Roll
Players often confuse crash landing and barrel roll. They're different skills:
| Skill | Trigger | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Crash Landing | Land on rival vehicle | Airport / Canyon Chase |
| Barrel Roll | Car does a full sideways roll mid-air | Canyon Chase / Ito Region ramps |
| Threading the Needle | Pass through a narrow gap | Various showcases |
