FH6 Barn Finds: All Locations & How to Unlock Them
Published: May 17, 2026 · 7 min read
How Barn Finds Work in FH6
Barn Finds are classic and rare cars hidden across the FH6 map that you can discover and restore. Unlike previous Forza Horizon titles, FH6 introduces a two-phase discovery system. First, a "Rumour" must be triggered — usually by reaching a certain level, completing a specific race, or progressing the main story. Once the rumour is active, a pink circle appears on your map marking the general area. Driving through the circle triggers a radio transmission that leads you to the exact barn location.
After finding a barn, the car is sent to your garage in derelict condition. It becomes available to drive immediately in its "Barn Find" state, but you can restore it through the Garage —> Barn Finds menu. Each car has a real-time restoration timer that counts down while you play or while the game is running.

Tips for Faster Barn Find Discovery
- Check your map regularly: Pink rumour circles appear as soon as a barn find becomes available. They are visible even if you are in a race or event — exit to free roam and head there immediately.
- Use fast travel: Once you have discovered a nearby fast travel board, you can fast travel close to the pink circle and save driving time.
- Listen for radio clues: When you enter a rumour zone, a radio message provides the exact location. The message is specific — "look for the water tower with the broken ladder" or "behind the abandoned petrol station." Pay attention rather than relying solely on the HUD marker.
- Barns persist after discovery: Once you have the rumour, the barn will never disappear. You can find it at any time.
- Barn Find cars are free: Unlike most cars, Barn Find cars cost zero credits to acquire. The only cost is restoration, which ranges from 10,000 to 50,000 credits depending on the car.
Restoration Process
After finding a barn, go to your garage and select "Barn Finds" from the menu. Each car shows its restoration progress as a percentage. Restoration happens in real time — the timer counts down whether you are driving, in menus, or the game is running in the background on your console or PC. You cannot speed up restoration with credits or Wheelspins.
The car is fully driveable in its unrestored state, but performance and cosmetics improve as restoration progresses. Restoration completes in stages:
- Stage 1 (25%): Engine starts and runs reliably. The car becomes driveable.
- Stage 2 (50%): Bodywork is repaired. The visual condition improves.
- Stage 3 (75%): Interior is fully restored. No more missing panels or cracked glass.
- Stage 4 (100%): Full concours restoration. The car looks and performs as new.
The Ferrari 250 GTO — The Ultimate Barn Find
The Ferrari 250 GTO is FH6's crown jewel Barn Find. To unlock it, you must find all 14 other barn finds and reach Player Level 100. This is a marathon, not a sprint — expect 40-60 hours of gameplay before the rumour triggers. The 250 GTO is one of the most valuable cars in the game and commands upwards of 30 million credits on the Auction House. Getting it for free via the Barn Find is the best deal in FH6.
Once restored, the 250 GTO handles beautifully in A class road racing with stock power, but many players swap in a modern V12 and upgrade it to S1 for competitive racing. Keep a stock version for show and a tuned version for driving.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I sell Barn Find cars? Yes, once restored you can auction them. The Ferrari 250 GTO regularly sells for 20M+ credits. However, you cannot sell duplicates or cars you only have one of — make sure you buy a second copy from the Autoshow or Auction House before selling your restored barn find if you want to keep it.
Do Barn Finds expire? No. Once a rumour triggers, the barn remains on the map permanently. You can find it at any point in your playthrough.
Can I find Barn Finds in multiplayer? Yes, but only the host of a Convoy will have their Barn Find rumours active. If you are a guest in a Convoy, you will not see rumour circles. Leave the Convoy, find the barn, then rejoin.
