The Murcielago SV is the last "true" V12 bull Lamborghini ever made — the Aventador that followed is faster, but it always felt like it lost a bit of the wildness. A 6.5-liter naturally-aspirated V12, 670 hp, 8,000 rpm redline, and an exhaust note that makes the glass buzz. Compared to a regular Murcielago, the SV dropped 100 kg and got carbon body parts everywhere. In FH6, the SV feels extremely heavy — 1,565 kg plus the AWD system, and you can feel the whole car's inertia pushing back against your steering input on corner entry.

But that's also where the AWD V12's advantage lives. AWD lets this 670 hp beast go full throttle on corner exit without worrying about the tail stepping out, and that's a huge edge in S1 — the RWD cars in the class are still feathering the throttle out of corners while you're already into the next one. The downside is just as obvious: 1,565 kg makes you feel like you're driving a truck through continuous corners, plus that ever-present turn-in understeer that never quite goes away. The right tuning goal for the Murcielago SV is — maximize AWD corner-exit grip while using the differential and suspension to minimize turn-in understeer.

The SV's best — and only sensible — class is S1. The stock 670 hp sits perfectly in S1: not too fast, not too slow, winning through AWD corner exit and V12 high-rpm surge. Pushing it to S2 has limited headroom (a naturally-aspirated V12 doesn't respond to ECU tuning the way a turbo does), and the weight problem only gets magnified at higher classes.

Tuning Parameters — Every Setting Explained

Tire Pressure

Front 32.0 PSI, Rear 31.0 PSI. A big AWD supercar puts enormous load on the front axle — the mid-mounted V12 sits basically just behind the front axle, and with the AWD front differential and driveshafts the front tires heat up very fast. The front wheels need higher pressure to keep tire temps in check. Watch this closely — if the fronts run 5+ degrees hotter than the rears, drop front pressure first before adding rear camber.

Gearing

Final Drive Ratio: 3.45. A naturally-aspirated V12 reacts to gearing completely differently than a turbo. Torque climbs linearly instead of plateauing, so the gears need to be slightly tighter so shifts land you above 5,500 rpm. The factory E-Gear sequential box already shifts fast enough in FH6, so the main thing you're tuning is the gear spacing.

Alignment

Camber: Front -2.2, Rear -1.5. The Murcielago's turn-in understeer is a mechanical problem — weight plus AWD plus high front-axle load; camber can only ease it, not cure it. Front -2.2 is already the limit once you factor in tire temps — any more and the outside shoulder wears excessively. Toe: Front 0.1 out (to help steering response), Rear 0.2 in (to stabilize the tail). Caster: 7.0.

Anti-Roll Bars

Front 30.0, Rear 30.0. Equal stiffness front and rear looks wrong on paper, but on the Murcielago it's the optimal answer. Front 30 controls corner-entry roll — 1,565 kg dives hard under braking. Rear 30 fights the corner-exit understeer the AWD brings. Equal bars also avoid sudden balance shifts — and "sudden" is the one thing the Murcielago fears most.

Springs

Front 750 lb/in, Rear 650 lb/in. Same logic as the anti-roll bars — stiff front springs control the mass, soft rear springs preserve corner-exit grip. At the deepest point of a corner you can feel the V12's weight pushing you outward, and stiffer rear springs only make that feeling worse. Lower by 1.0 inch.

Damping

Rebound: Front 8.5, Rear 8.0. Bump: Front 5.5, Rear 5.0. On the stiff side but not a track-only setup — the Murcielago needs some suspension compliance on FH6's street surfaces. Bump that's too high causes wheel hop over bumpy corner sections, and wheel hop on an AWD car has worse consequences than on RWD.

Aero

The SV's big rear wing isn't decoration. For S1, set rear wing downforce at 70% and the front splitter to a cornering bias. Past 250 km/h the Murcielago's nose starts to lift (front-axle lift), so front splitter downforce is critical for high-speed corner-entry confidence. Setting the wing too high hurts top speed — 340+ km/h is the common top-speed range in S1.

Brakes

Balance: 54% Front, Pressure: 115%. Carbon-ceramic brakes are standard on the SV. With 1,565 kg and 300+ km/h corner-entry speeds, the brake system takes a massive load. 54% front balance plus the AWD's engine braking assist gets you slowed down steadily before turn-in. 115% pressure ensures plenty of stopping force without locking up easily.

Differential

Center diff: 60% rear bias. Front diff: Accel 35%, Decel 15%. Rear diff: Accel 65%, Decel 40%. The rear-biased center diff is there to give the steering as much RWD feel as possible — cutting turn-in understeer. Don't run the front diff lock too high; the V12 plus AWD already loads the front axle enough. Rear accel lock at 65% makes sure both rear wheels are putting power down on corner exit.

Common Tuning Mistakes

Softening the rear anti-roll bar to "fix understeer." A lot of people assume turn-in understeer means the front bar is too stiff, so they keep stiffening the rear. The Murcielago is heavy — a rear bar past 32 makes the rear axle lose its progressive feel mid-corner, and it goes from understeer to snap oversteer with no transition.

Front diff lock too high. The first instinct when an AWD car understeers is "lock the front diff so the front wheels work harder." On the Murcielago that only makes the understeer worse — the V12 already makes the front axle heavy enough.

Ignoring tire temperature management. Tire temp management matters more on this car than any other setting. If the front tires pass 95 degrees after three laps, grip falls off a cliff. Actively drop tire pressure for longer races.
