FH6 Steering Wheel Compatibility List — Every Supported Wheel

Controller racing in FH6 is excellent. The game was built for it. But a force feedback wheel changes the experience from "playing a racing game" to "driving a car." The difference in immersion — feeling understeer through the wheel going light, catching oversteer through the rim snapping back, sensing grip levels change as tires heat up — makes every corner an event. Here's every wheel that works with FH6, what you need to know before buying, and which setup gives you the best experience per budget.

Platform compatibility is the first filter. Xbox compatibility requires a security chip that's built into the wheel base, which means not every PC wheel works on Xbox. PC has the widest compatibility. Cloud gaming through Xbox Cloud Gaming has limited wheel support. If you plan to play on multiple platforms, read the compatibility column carefully.

Logitech — Best Entry-Level Options

Logitech dominates the entry-level segment and for good reason. The G920 (Xbox/PC) and G29 (PlayStation/PC) have been the default starter wheels for a decade. Both use a dual-motor gear-driven force feedback system that delivers up to 2.2 Nm of torque. It's not the strongest or smoothest, but it's reliable, plug-and-play, and the FH6 default force feedback profile works well out of the box. The three-pedal set is included, and the leather-wrapped rim feels better than the price suggests. Expect to pay around $250-300 new, often less used.

The G923 (Xbox/PC) replaced the G920 with TrueForce — a haptic feedback system that adds vibration through the wheel rim to simulate engine vibration, road texture, and curb strikes. FH6 supports TrueForce, and it adds a surprising amount of immersion. The force feedback is still gear-driven, so you'll feel some notchiness through the wheel compared to belt or direct drive systems. The G923 typically runs $350-400.

The Logitech G Pro Racing Wheel is Logitech's entry into direct drive. 11 Nm of torque, a quick-release rim system, and TrueForce haptics. It's a serious piece of kit at $999 for the base and rim. FH6's direct drive support is solid, and the G Pro communicates road surface detail better than any belt-driven wheel. But you're paying near-Fanatec money for Logitech's ecosystem, which has fewer rim options. Worth it if you want the simplest direct drive setup with no adapter headaches.

Thrustmaster — Best Mid-Range Options

Thrustmaster's ecosystem is deeper than Logitech's. The T300 RS (PlayStation/PC) and TX Racing Wheel (Xbox/PC) are the mid-range sweet spot. Both use a dual-belt system with a brushless motor delivering roughly 3.9 Nm of torque. Belt drive is smoother than gear drive — no notchiness, quieter operation, and more nuanced force feedback. The default rim is decent, but the real value is in Thrustmaster's ecosystem: you can swap rims (F1-style, GT, rally, classic round) and pedals (upgrade to the T-LCM load cell pedals for actual brake pressure sensing). The TX base with a Ferrari 458 rim runs about $400. Add T-LCM pedals for another $200.

The T-GT II (PlayStation/PC) bumps torque slightly and adds a transducer for additional vibration effects, but at $700-800 it's in a weird spot — close to direct drive money without the direct drive smoothness. The T818 is Thrustmaster's direct drive base (10 Nm, PC only at launch, Xbox compatibility through specific rims) and it's their best FH6 experience, but Xbox users need to verify rim compatibility before buying.

For FH6 specifically, the TX Racing Wheel is the best value on Xbox. The belt-driven feedback communicates slip angle and weight transfer well enough that you can catch slides before they become spins. The 900-degree rotation is sufficient for FH6's physics model, which doesn't need the 1080+ degrees of hardcore sims.

Fanatec — The Enthusiast Standard

Fanatec is the bridge between consumer wheels and professional sim racing equipment. The CSL DD (5 Nm base, upgradeable to 8 Nm with the Boost Kit 180) is direct drive at an accessible price. The Xbox-compatible version requires a Fanatec Xbox-licensed steering rim — the McLaren GT3 V2 rim is a popular choice for FH6 at $199, and the base plus rim plus pedals runs around $700-900 total. Direct drive means the motor connects directly to the steering shaft with no belts or gears in between. The result: instant response, zero friction, and force feedback detail that belt-driven wheels physically cannot reproduce.

The ClubSport DD and DD+ (12 Nm and 15 Nm) are Fanatec's mid-range direct drive offerings. For FH6 these are arguably overkill — the game's physics model doesn't output the kind of high-frequency detail that benefits from 15 Nm — but the extra headroom means the wheel never clips (never maxes out its torque and loses detail). The Podium DD1 (20 Nm) and DD2 (25 Nm) are Fanatec's flagship bases. They're built for iRacing and Assetto Corsa. In FH6, dial them down to 40-50% force and enjoy the headroom.

Fanatec pedals: the CSL Pedals are the entry set with an optional load cell brake upgrade (strongly recommended — load cell braking changes everything). The ClubSport V3 pedals are the sweet spot for FH6 at $400. The inverted V3s add heel-toe realism but cost $600.

Moza Racing — The Disruptor

Moza entered the market with well-built direct drive bases at aggressive prices. The R3 (3.9 Nm, Xbox compatible, $399 for base and rim) is the first truly affordable direct drive wheel for Xbox. The R5 (5.5 Nm, PC only), R9 (9 Nm, PC only), and R12 (12 Nm, PC only) cover the mid-to-high range. Moza's quick-release system is tool-less and solid. Their FH6 force feedback profiles have improved significantly through firmware updates — earlier complaints about vague center feel have been largely resolved.

The Xbox-compatible Moza ecosystem is smaller than Fanatec's but growing. The ESX steering wheel for Xbox costs $139 and covers most use cases. The SR-P pedals ($189, load cell brake) complete a competitive Xbox setup for around $730 total — undercutting an equivalent Fanatec setup by $100-200.

Moza's software (Pit House) is PC-only for adjustments, so Xbox users need to configure their settings on a PC first, then the settings save to the wheel base. Not a dealbreaker, but an extra step. Moza's FH6-specific preset in Pit House is a good starting point.

Direct Drive Wheels — Full Platform Matrix

Asetek (La Prima, Forte, Invicta) are PC-only and targeted at hardcore sim racers. Their FH6 performance is excellent but overbuilt for the game's physics. Simucube (Sport, Pro, Ultimate) are the premium PC-only option — 17-25 Nm, used by esports competitors, and complete overkill for FH6 unless you also race sims. Cammus and Simagic offer competitive direct drive bases at lower prices but have limited Xbox support and varying FH6 force feedback quality.

Setting Up Your Wheel for FH6

FH6's force feedback works differently from sim racing titles. The game emphasizes "fun" feel over clinical accuracy — the forces are filtered through a layer designed to make driving enjoyable rather than punishing. Start with the default profile for your wheel brand. Then adjust: reduce vibration and road feel by 25% (the default is aggressive), set force feedback scale to 70-80% of your wheel's maximum (to prevent clipping), and set center spring to around 40-50% (prevents a dead zone at center without making the wheel feel artificially heavy). Understeer and minimum force should both be set low — around 25-30%. High minimum force masks subtle tire slip detail.

Steering linearity: leave at 50 for direct drive wheels. For gear-driven wheels like the G920, bump to 55-60 — the gear mechanism adds some nonlinearity that this compensates for. Steering sensitivity: leave at 50. This is preference territory, but 50 is neutral and the game's steering response is well-calibrated there.
