Subaru in Forza Horizon 6

Subaru

I've been messing with Subarus in Fh6 for a minute now, boxer engines, symmetrical awd, the rally heritage runs stupid deep. Legit fun tbh.

Honestly, Subaru brings 1 vehicle to Forza Horizon 6 and I've driven it way more than I probably should. Each one's got its own vibe tho, whether you're grinding races or just cruising around. Yep.

What Makes Subaru Special

I always mess with tire compounds on my Subarus, it's kinda the whole thing with these cars. The responsiveness tho, that's what got me hooked. Corners. Man, that's where these things actually wake up and do their thing.

For tuning, I've found bumping the rebound stiffness up makes a legit difference on Subaru cars. But here's the catch, push too hard in tight corners without a proper setup and you're gonna have a bad time. No joke.

Best Events for Subaru

I run my Subarus mostly in road racing events, they feel right at home there. And with the right tune, some models are actually kinda broken in drift zones. Fr.

Anyway, that's the quick version.

Best Events for Subaru

So you got yourself a Subaru, now where do you actually race it? I've spent way too many hours testing this, and for road racing circuits, Subarus handle best on medium to high-speed tracks with smooth corners. The Subaru WRX STI S209 is my personal go-to on tracks like the Coastal Highway and Mountain Pass circuits, you can really stretch its legs there. Street scene events slap too, Subarus have good acceleration out of corners. But honestly, I'd stay away from dirt racing unless you've got a dedicated rally-tuned Subaru, most of these cars are built for asphalt and the offroad handling is sketchy af.

For online racing, Subarus in B class are competitive without being sweaty OP. You'll hold your own against similar-tier stuff. Tuning is the whole game tho, a stock Subaru is fine for solo but you need proper gearing and suspension for competitive multiplayer. I set my final drive ratio slightly longer than stock on Subarus cause they top out way too early on fast tracks. Big deal if ya get it wrong.

Tuning Tips for Subaru

Tuning Subarus is more about small tweaks than a full overhaul tbh. These cars come pretty dialed from the factory, and honestly most of the performance gain comes from tiny adjustments. I start with tire pressure, drop it 2 PSI from stock for better grip on technical circuits, or raise it 1 PSI for top speed runs. The suspension on Subarus tends to be a bit stiff for Fh6's bumpy roads, so I soften the springs by about 10 percent and it actually improves handling on most tracks. Go figure.

For the diff, Subarus benefit from a slightly higher rear bias, try 65 percent rear on AWD models and 100 percent rear on RWD. Anti-roll bars, I set them one click softer than default in the front and one click stiffer in the rear. This dials out the understeer these cars sometimes have on corner entry. And gearing, man, this is the most important adjustment, Subaru gearboxes are set up for real-world speeds but Fh6 tracks are shorter and tighter, so I shorten the final drive for better acceleration out of slow corners. Makes a huge difference, fr.

How Subaru Compares to Rivals

In Fh6's roster, Subaru's got a weird spot among the 3 vehicles from Japan. Compared to other manufacturers in similar classes, the driving character is something ya either love or absolutely hate. Some players swear by Subarus for certain tracks, others can't stand em. Honestly, my advice is to just drive a few different manufacturers back to back on the same track and see which handling model clicks with you. A spreadsheet doesn't tell you how a car feels through a corner. For real.

Collecting Tips

If you're trying to collect every Subaru in Fh6, I'd start with the Autoshow cars, those are the easiest, just buy em with credits. The wheelspin-exclusive Subarus are the real grind tho, no guaranteed way to get em. Nope. I check the auction house regularly, especially on weekends when more players are listing stuff. For the seasonal reward Subarus, ya just gotta wait for them to cycle back around in the festival playlist. Set a reminder and don't miss the week, it might be months before it comes back. I learned that the hard way, like, twice.

Common Tuning Mistakes with This Brand

I see people mess up Subaru tunes all the time, like, constantly. The biggest noob trap is maxing out every upgrade without thinking about balance. A fully upgraded Subaru with 1500 horsepower is useless if ya can't put the power down. Traction is everything in Fh6, and Subarus especially need proper tire and suspension upgrades before you start chasing horsepower. Another common screw-up is ignoring weight reduction, Subarus are already kinda heavy, and shedding a hundred kilos is worth way more lap time than adding 50 horsepower. Start with handling mods, then add power. And don't forget brake upgrades, seriously, being able to brake 10 meters later into every corner adds up to seconds per lap. Yep.
