Tuning in Forza Horizon 6 is the difference between a car that's driveable and one that's dominant. A properly tuned car carries 5-10 km/h more speed through corners, puts power down earlier on exit, and stays stable over surface transitions that unsettle stock setups. The tuning system in FH6 gives you control over tire pressure, gearing, alignment, anti-roll bars, springs, damping, aero, differential, and brake balance — nine systems that interact with each other in ways that aren't always obvious. Change your rear tire pressure by 2 PSI, and you've also changed your effective spring rate, which changes your ride height, which changes your aero balance. Every adjustment cascades.

This tuning hub collects 134 verified car setups across every class from S2 down to D, covering road racing, dirt racing, cross country, drag, and drift disciplines. Each setup includes share codes so you can load the tune directly in-game, plus the reasoning behind each adjustment — not just "set front camber to -1.5" but why that specific value works for that specific car on that specific track type. How FH6 Tuning Works

Every tunable parameter affects your car's Performance Index (PI) — the number that determines which class your car competes in. The goal of tuning isn't to maximize PI (anyone can slap on race parts and end up in S2). It's to optimize PI efficiency: get the most speed, grip, and handling out of a given PI budget. A well-tuned A-class car at PI 800 can outrun a poorly tuned S1 car at PI 900 on a technical track because the A-class car's PI is spent on handling and grip rather than wasted on top speed it can't use.

For beginners, start with tire pressure and gearing — they have the biggest impact per adjustment and are the hardest to get wrong. Tire pressure affects your contact patch: lower pressure = more grip but more heat and tire wear (not modeled in FH6, so you can run as low as 26 PSI without penalty). Gearing determines your acceleration curve: shorter gears = faster acceleration but lower top speed. On technical tracks like Canyon Sprint, shorter gearing is almost always faster because you spend more time accelerating out of corners than you do at top speed. For intermediate tuners, alignment (camber, toe) and differential settings are where lap time gains live. Negative camber increases cornering grip at the cost of braking stability — the sweet spot for most cars is -1.2 to -1.8 front, -0.8 to -1.2 rear. For advanced tuners, suspension (springs, damping, ride height) and aero balance are the fine-tuning tools that separate top 1% Rivals times from top 5%.

Tuning by Discipline

Road Racing: Stiff suspension, low ride height, high aero. Camber: -1.5/-1.0 F/R. Toe: 0 front, -0.1 rear (stability under braking). Differential: 70% rear bias, 40% accel lock, 20% decel lock.

Dirt Racing: Soft suspension, raised ride height (10-12 cm), reduced aero. Camber: -1.0/-0.5 F/R. Toe: +0.1 front (improves turn-in on loose surface), 0 rear. Differential: 50% rear bias, 60% accel lock (needed for traction on dirt), 30% decel lock.

Cross Country: Softest suspension, max ride height, minimal aero. Camber: -0.5/0 F/R. Soft springs absorb landing impact from jumps. Bump damping set 20-30% higher than rebound to control compression on landings.

Drag Racing: Soft rear suspension (weight transfer to rear on launch), stiff front. Tire pressure: 28 PSI rear for max contact patch on launch. Gearing: final drive set so you cross the finish line at the top of your highest gear. Differential: 80%+ rear accel lock.

Drift: Stiff front, soft rear. Front camber: -3.0 to -4.0 (extreme for angle). Rear camber: 0 to -0.5. Toe: 0 front, +0.2 rear (helps initiate slides). Differential: 100% rear accel lock (both wheels spin together for predictable slides).

Using Share Codes

Each tuning setup below includes a share code — a short numeric code you enter in the "Find Tuning Setups" menu in FH6. After entering the code, you can preview the tune and apply it for an in-game credit fee (typically 5,000-10,000 CR depending on the parts). Share codes are platform-specific: a code created on Xbox works on Xbox and PC (via Xbox Play Anywhere), but not on PlayStation. We label each setup with its platform so you don't waste credits on a tune you can't use.
