The R32 Skyline GT-R V-Spec II. You don't need me to tell you how legendary this car is. Godzilla, the Guia circuit, 29 straight Group A wins — those stories live in every JDM fan's blood. But what I want to talk about is the truth inside FH6: strip away the myth, and what is the R32 GT-R in 2026's FH6? The answer: a car that demands real driving, not a car that lets you lean on technology to come back.

The RB26DETT straight-six twin-turbo engine, rated 276hp stock (Japan's gentleman's agreement) but actually putting out close to 330hp. The ATTESA E-TS AWD system — the most advanced electronic AWD of its era — runs rear-biased in normal conditions and sends torque to the front wheels when it detects slip. In FH6 this system is simplified: in AWD mode the ATTESA effect is simulated through center-differential rear bias. 1,540kg was heavy for the '90s; today, next to an Elise GT1, it's basically a brick.

In A class, a stock-style R32 GT-R can still fight. The 330hp + AWD combo gives it a clear corner-exit advantage on A-class low-to-medium-speed circuits — especially in the rain and on low-grip surfaces, where ATTESA puts your traction ahead of the RWD competition. Moving up to S1 requires turbo swaps, engine internals, and wide-body tires — a built GT-R can reach 550hp+, but the 1,540kg weight becomes a burden as the car ages. An S1 GT-R can win, but you'll have to out-drive your rivals.

The A-class light tune at 380hp — intake, exhaust, ECU, the three best-regarded mods for the RB26. Keeping the stock twin turbos gives you the most linear response. The S1 heavy tune at 550hp needs a big turbo and forged internals — that's another world for the RB26, fascinating but not for everyone.

Tuning Parameters — The Details Matter

Tire Pressure

Front: 31.0 PSI, Rear: 30.0 PSI. The R32 GT-R's weight distribution is close to 55:45 (front-heavy), so the front axle needs slightly higher pressure to handle braking loads and engine weight. The 30 PSI rear works with the ATTESA system — the rear wheels are the primary drive wheels in normal conditions, so they need a big contact patch. A 1 PSI front-rear difference won't be too extreme.

Gearing

Final Drive Ratio: 3.90 (A class), 3.70 (S1 class). The RB26's twin-turbo response is very linear through the 3,500-7,000 RPM range — no obvious turbo-lag hole. The 3.90 final drive keeps sensible gear spacing in A class (the R32 is a 5-speed manual), so every corner exit lands in the sweet spot. The S1-class 3.70 is because S1 demands more top speed.

Alignment

Camber: Front -1.8, Rear -1.2. The R32 GT-R uses multi-link suspension (front and rear), and the stock alignment is conservative — Nissan designed it as more of a road cruiser than a pure track car back then. The -1.8 front compensates for brake dive, and the -1.2 rear works with ATTESA to keep the rear tires flat on exit. Toe: Front 0.05, Rear 0.15. A touch of positive toe gives AWD cars stability without overly dull steering. Caster: 7.0.

Anti-Roll Bars

Front: 28.0, Rear: 26.0. The R32 GT-R is front-heavy, so the front bar needs to be slightly stiffer to control front-axle roll at turn-in. The 26 rear bar isn't soft — when ATTESA detects rear-wheel slip it sends power to the front, and at that moment the rear wheels go from "having torque" to "no torque," a violent change in grip state. The rear bar can't be too soft, or that transition will make the tail feel like it suddenly let go.

Springs

Front: 600 lb/in, Rear: 500 lb/in. The front springs are 100 pounds stiffer than the rear — the physical result of front-heavy weight. The R32 GT-R's stock springs are on the soft side (built for Japanese highway cruising), and the upgraded 600/500 is sensible for track use. Ride height: lower 1.2 inches. The stock stance is a bit SUV-like; dropping it doesn't change the suspension geometry too much.

Damping

Rebound: Front 7.5, Rear 6.5. Bump: Front 4.8, Rear 4.0. The R32's stock setup is hydraulic power steering plus multi-link suspension, with soft damping. Rebound needs strengthening to control 1,540kg of body motion — that weight carries clear inertia through linked corners. Soft bump keeps mechanical grip over bumpy surfaces — many Japanese tracks are uneven (Suzuka, Tsukuba), and soft bump makes you faster on them.

Aero

The R32 GT-R V-Spec II has an aero kit stock (small wing, front lip). After upgrading the Forza aero, set the front splitter to cornering bias and the rear wing downforce at 55%. A class doesn't need much downforce — you won't reach speeds where aero produces meaningful effect. In S1 you can raise it to 65%.

Brakes

Balance: 54% front, Pressure: 103%. A heavy car with front weight bias needs the front brakes to do more work. 103% pressure isn't high — the stock Brembo calipers are enough for A class. For S1 I'd upgrade the pads and rotors, then raise the pressure to 108%.

Differential

Center differential: 40% rear bias. The essence of ATTESA — 40% rear bias means the R32 drives off the rear wheels in normal conditions, like a true FR car. This setting is most comfortable at turn-in — the nose feels light and willing to turn. Front differential: Accel lock 25%, Decel lock 10%. ATTESA is already managing front torque split, so mechanical lockup doesn't need to be high. Rear differential: Accel lock 55%, Decel lock 25%. The rear wheels are the primary drive wheels, so accel lock can't be too low, but you don't need P1-level 75%.

Best Race Types

A-class road racing — this is the R32's mission. It excels on low-to-medium-speed technical circuits — AWD corner exit plus the RB26's linear output gives every corner rhythm. In the rain, the R32 GT-R feels like coming home — ATTESA is basically a cheat code in the wet, letting you commit to the throttle a gear earlier than your rivals on exit. Street racing is good; the softer suspension absorbs surface imperfections. Don't run off-road. Drag racing is mediocre — the AWD launch is good but the horsepower ceiling limits the top end.

Tuning Share Codes

The R32 GT-R community is one of the oldest in FH6 — people have been tuning this car since FH1. Feel free to share your GT-R tune; I'm most interested in setups that best preserve the original ATTESA feel.

Common Tuning Mistakes

Setting front and rear anti-roll bars equal. The R32 is front-heavy; the front bar needs to be stiffer than the rear. Equal bars make it push too much on entry.

Center differential biased too far rear. ATTESA already provides the rear-bias feel; pushing it to 70% just throws away the AWD advantage — the front wheels can't get power when you need traction.

Forgetting the RB26's redline. The RB26's stock redline is 8,000 RPM, but the actual best shift point is 7,200-7,500 RPM — torque starts falling off after that.

Setting the springs too stiff to imitate a "track build." The R32's multi-link suspension is about grip, not stiffness. Overly stiff springs destroy the multi-link's advantage — the freedom of its independent suspension.
