The gifting system is how that happens — it's built into the game, it's simple to use, and the rewards structure even incentivizes you to give away good cars rather than the ones gathering dust at the back of your garage. How to Gift a Car
The process takes about 30 seconds. Open your garage, select the car you want to gift, and choose the Gift Car option from the menu. You'll be asked who you want to send it to. You have several options: Gift to a Specific Player (requires their gamertag), Gift to New Players (the game automatically sends it to someone who recently started playing), Gift to Community Contributors (players who've shared popular tunes, liveries, or blueprints), or Gift to Anyone (random distribution to any FH6 player). After selecting the recipient type, you can add a personal message. The car is then removed from your garage and delivered to the recipient through the in-game message system. They have 30 days to claim it before it expires.
Important: gifting is permanent. Once you send a car, it's gone from your garage. There's no undo button and the recipient can't send it back through the same system. Make sure you actually want to give away the car before you hit confirm. The game does warn you — pay attention to the warning.
Gift Drop Rewards — How the System Incentivizes Giving
FH6 added a gift drop reward system that gives you in-game rewards based on the value and quality of cars you gift. The system tracks three metrics: total value gifted, number of cars gifted, and recipient feedback (the kudos system — recipients can send a thank-you message and rate the gift). The reward tiers are cumulative: Gift 1 car: 1 wheelspin. Gift 5 cars valuing 1 million+ credits total: Exclusive gift drop car (varies by season). What Cars Should You Gift?
The short answer: gift your duplicates and anything you'll never drive, but make it good. Sending someone a stock Ford Fiesta with no upgrades is technically gifting but nobody's excited about it. The gift drop reward system also values gifts based on their market value, so sending higher-value cars gets you better rewards. Some guidelines:
Best gifts for new players: A-class or S1-class cars with a good tune already applied. New players don't have the credits for upgrades and might not know how to tune yet. A pre-tuned car that they can race immediately is far more valuable than a stock hypercar they can't afford to upgrade. The Hoonigan Ford Focus, a well-tuned Mitsubishi Evo, or any competitive A-class car with race tires and aero already installed.
Best gifts for community contributors: Rare seasonal cars they might have missed. Contributors often have full garages already, so they'll appreciate something they can't easily acquire. Check their garage if the profile is public and send something they don't own.
Best gifts for anyone: Cars with popular community liveries applied. A stock car is a car. A car with a well-designed livery is a conversation starter. Spend 5 minutes browsing the livery marketplace before gifting.
What not to gift: Stock D-class cars (unless it's a rare barn find), duplicates of common Autoshow cars everyone already has, cars with engine damage from simulation damage turned on, and cars with offensive liveries or messages.
Barn Find Gifting — Special Rules
Barn find cars can be gifted like any other car after they've been restored. You cannot gift a barn find car while it's still in the restoration queue — it needs to be fully restored and in your garage first. If you find a duplicate barn find (possible through seasonal events or the auction house), gifting it is one of the most appreciated gestures in FH6. Barn find cars are unique experiences for new players and receiving one as a gift skips the wait time entirely. The Ferrari 250 GTO and Jaguar XJ220 are the most valued barn find gifts because of their rarity and value.
Receiving Gift Cars
When someone sends you a car, it appears in your in-game messages under the Gifts tab. You have 30 days to claim it. After claiming, the car goes directly to your garage. You can send a thank-you message back through the kudos system, which helps the sender earn gift drop rewards. Gift cars cannot be sold at auction for 24 hours after claiming — this prevents people from using the gifting system to transfer auction credits between accounts. After 24 hours, the car is treated normally and can be auctioned, modified, or re-gifted.
Gift Etiquette — The Unwritten Rules
