Collecting every car in FH6 isn't a weekend project. With over 800 vehicles spread across the Autoshow, Forzathon Shop, seasonal playlist rewards, wheelspins, barn finds, and the auction house, you need a system. I learned this the hard way after buying three duplicate Ferrari 488 Pistas in my first month because I couldn't remember what was already in my garage. This guide is the tracker I wish I'd had from day one.

How Many Cars Are in FH6?

As of the latest update, FH6 sits at roughly 830 unique vehicles. That number changes slightly with each seasonal update — Playground Games adds 4-8 new cars every four weeks through the Festival Playlist, plus occasional car packs and DLC expansions. The base game launched with around 780, and we've had steady additions since. Here's how the sources break down:

• Autoshow: Approximately 540 cars available for direct credit purchase at any time
• Barn Finds: 16 hidden vehicles scattered across the map, each with a specific restoration timer
• Wheelspin Exclusive: Roughly 80 cars that only drop from wheelspins or super wheelspins
• Seasonal Playlist: 4-6 new cars per series (every 4 weeks), with each series adding exclusives
• Forzathon Shop: Rotating stock, 2-4 cars per week, some exclusive to this shop
• Car Pass / DLC: About 42 cars from the Car Pass plus expansion packs
• Accolade Rewards: 10-12 cars unlocked by completing specific accolade milestones
• Auction House Only: Some seasonal exclusives that can no longer be earned fresh, only bought secondhand

The total car count is important because it determines your completion percentage. The in-game stats screen tracks unique cars owned against the total available pool, but note: DLC cars you don't own aren't counted against you. The game only tracks cars from content you actually have access to.

Completion Percentage Tracking

Your garage completion percentage lives in the Stats menu under Horizon Life. But the number can be misleading because it includes duplicates — having two of the same car counts as two "owned" entries even though you only have one unique model. For true unique-car tracking, filter your garage view by manufacturer and check each brand against the full FH6 car list.

Realistic completion milestones:

• 25% (~200 cars): A solid garage after about 50 hours. You've bought the meta cars and collected most barn finds
• 50% (~415 cars): Serious collector territory. You're grinding wheelspins and hitting seasonal playlist targets every week
• 75% (~620 cars): Deep endgame. You're sniping auction house listings and spending millions on rare seasonal exclusives from past series
• 90%+ (~750 cars): Hardcore completionist. At this point you're hunting the last few wheelspin-exclusive cars and hoping the Forzathon Shop cycles in what you're missing

Rarest Cars to Acquire

These are the cars that will keep you up at night. Each one requires a specific strategy, and some are genuinely missable if you weren't playing during a particular season:

1. Ferrari 250 California (Seasonal Exclusive)

The 250 California only appeared in Series 3's spring season. It hasn't returned to the playlist or Forzathon Shop since. Auction house listings appear maybe once a week and sell for the 20 million credit buyout cap within seconds. If you want this car, set up an auction snipe filter and be prepared to lose dozens of bidding wars before you win one.

2. Koenigsegg CCGT (Wheelspin Only)

Wheelspin exclusive with an abysmal drop rate. Anecdotally, players report seeing one every 300-400 wheelspins on average. It's also the best S2 circuit car in the game, so demand never drops. If you see one in the auction house under 5 million, buy it immediately.

3. McLaren F1 GT (Barn Find + Seasonal)

The base F1 is a barn find, but the F1 GT variant was a Series 5 seasonal reward that hasn't been reissued. Like the 250 California, your only option now is the auction house at 20 million credits.

4. Hoonigan RS200 (Forzathon Shop Exclusive)

The RS200 appears in the Forzathon Shop roughly once every 6-8 weeks for 600-800 FP. Between appearances, auction house prices hover around 8-12 million. If you see it in the shop, buy it. Don't wait.

Most Expensive Cars

Budget planning for the big-ticket items. These are Autoshow prices — auction house prices for rare exclusives can go much higher:

• Koenigsegg Jesko Absolute: 2,800,000 CR (Autoshow) — the most expensive direct-purchase car and worth every credit for S2 racing
• Ferrari FXX-K Evo: 3,000,000 CR (Autoshow) — track weapon that justifies its price on any circuit with more than three corners
• Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+: 3,200,000 CR — top speed king, situational but essential for speed traps and highway racing
• Mercedes-AMG One: 2,700,000 CR (Autoshow) — F1-derived hybrid hypercar, competitive in S2 and S1
• Lamborghini Veneno: 4,500,000 CR — not the best performer but a collection centerpiece, holds auction house value
• Ferrari 250 GTO: 10,000,000 CR (Autoshow) — classic collector car, rarely used in races but a garage flex piece
• Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe: 8,000,000 CR (Autoshow) — vintage racing icon, competitive in A class with the right build

Total Autoshow cost for every car: roughly 140-160 million credits. That's before auction house sniping for seasonals. You'll want to be familiar with every credit farming method available if you're serious about completing the collection.

Collection Rewards and Milestones

FH6 rewards you for building a big garage beyond just having cars to drive:

• 25 Car Collection: Horizon Promo unlocked — start photographing cars for rewards
• 50 Cars: Free Wheelspin
• 100 Cars: Forza Edition car (random from a curated pool of 12 FE models)
• 200 Cars: 3 Super Wheelspins
• 350 Cars: Exclusive collector's outfit and car horn
• 500 Cars: Rare Forza Edition car (guaranteed new-to-you model)
• 700 Cars: "Garage Royalty" achievement and a unique badge next to your gamertag
• Full Collection (all obtainable cars): A banner that changes every series — the ultimate flex in online lobbies

Tracking Tools and Spreadsheets

The in-game garage filter is functional but limited. You can sort by manufacturer, class, year, and recently acquired, but you can't export a checklist or mark which cars you still need. Serious collectors use external tools:

• Community Spreadsheets: Several community members maintain Google Sheets with every car listed by manufacturer, including acquisition source and current availability. The most up-to-date version is usually pinned in the FH6 subreddit sidebar
• Forza Horizon Database Apps: Third-party mobile apps (iOS and Android) that sync conceptually with the FH6 car list — you manually check off what you own and the app calculates completion percentage, missing cars, and estimated credit cost to finish
• Manual Tracker: Some players just keep a Notes file on their phone. Manufacturer by manufacturer, check off what you've got. Tedious but reliable
• Auction House Alerts: Discord bots and community servers run alert systems that ping you when specific rare cars appear on the auction house. Essential for hunting seasonal exclusives

Collection Strategy — Where to Start

If you're starting from scratch or trying to close the gap to 100%, here's the efficient path:

1. Buy every Autoshow car under 100,000 CR first. There are ~200 of these and they add up fast. Do this in bulk sessions
2. Complete all barn finds. Free cars, no credits required, just time and exploration. Use our barn finds guide for exact locations
3. Grind wheelspins for the wheelspin-exclusive pool. You'll pick up duplicates along the way that you can sell on the auction house to fund the expensive Autoshow cars
4. Never miss a seasonal playlist. Each series adds 4-6 new cars. Missing a series means paying 20 million per car on the auction house later
5. Check the Forzathon Shop every Thursday. Even if you already own the featured car, a duplicate can be sold for millions
6. Snipe the auction house during off-peak hours. Early morning US time on weekdays has the least competition for rare listings

One last tip that saved me millions: before buying any car over 500,000 CR from the Autoshow, check whether it's available through an accolade reward. Several expensive cars are unlocked for free by completing specific challenges, and the game doesn't advertise this well. The XP and accolade system has more hidden car unlocks than most players realize.
