FH6 Photo Mode — How to Take Stunning Car Photos
Forza Horizon's photo mode is one of the best in gaming. Here's how to take shots that look like real car photography.
Best Camera Settings
| Setting | Recommended | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Shutter Speed | 25-50 (action) / 100 (static) | Lower = more motion blur, sense of speed |
| Aperture | 8-15 (car focus) / 2-5 (artistic blur) | Lower f-stop = more background blur (bokeh) |
| Contrast | 55-65 | Slightly elevated for punch |
| Brightness | 48-52 | Stay near 50, adjust per lighting |
| Color | 55-70 | Vibrant but not cartoonish |
| Vignette | 10-30 | Subtle dark edges focus attention on the car |
Best Photo Locations
Coastal Highway
Golden hour (sunset) on the coastal road. Ocean on one side, cliffs on the other. Perfect for supercar shots.
Desert Dunes
Midday sun creates dramatic shadows on sand. Great for off-road trucks and rally cars kicking up dust.
Mountain Pass
Winding roads at elevation, snow in winter. Fog adds atmosphere. Perfect for rally cars and JDM.
Downtown at Night
Neon reflections on wet roads after rain. Street lights create natural rim lighting on car bodies.
Pro Tips
- Golden hour is king: The 10 minutes around sunrise and sunset produce the best natural lighting. Plan your photo sessions around these times.
- Use zoom, don't move closer: Zooming in from farther away compresses the background and makes the car look more proportional.
- Rain is your friend: Wet roads reflect light beautifully. After a rain shower, streets look cinematic.
- Rule of thirds: Place the car on a third-line intersection, not dead center. Leave space in the direction the car is facing.
- Lower the camera: Eye-level or lower angles make cars look more imposing. Overhead shots make them look like toys.
