Jaguar E-Type Barn Find, FH6 Complete Guide

Location: East Coast, near the coastal highway | Year: 1961 | Value: 350,000 CR | Restoration: 85,000 CR, 2-3 hours

I'm gonna be real with you, the E-Type is probably the first barn find you'll unlock in FH6 and tbh it's a pretty sweet way to kick off the whole barn find thing. Enzo Ferrari called it "the most beautiful car ever made" and honestly, seeing one roll out of a dusty shed after restoration hits different. Like, legit one of those moments where the barn find system actually feels worth doing.

So here's the deal with the E-Type in FH6. It's not the most valuable barn find, the 250 GTO smokes it by miles on that front, and it's definitely not the most competitive thing on track. But man, it's cheap to restore, it looks absolutely gorgeous, and I've found it's genuinely fun to throw around in D and C class events. The lightweight chassis and that smooth inline-six, they just work together in a way that makes you wanna keep driving it even when there's faster stuff in your garage.

How to Find the Jaguar E-Type

The barn sits along the East Coast region, right near the coastal highway that runs north-south. I'm telling you, the purple search circle pops up pretty early in the campaign, usually after you knock out your first few Horizon Adventure chapters and unlock the coastal festival site. Look for a weathered wooden barn hiding behind a row of palm trees about 200 meters inland from the main road. Tbh the drone camera makes this one kinda trivial, the barn is visible from above with nothing blocking it. No joke. I found it in like 2 minutes.

If the rumor hasn't triggered yet, just keep grinding through the campaign. Barn finds unlock in a set order tied to your overall progression, not your level or how many credits you're sitting on. The fastest way to trigger the next rumor? Bang out festival events and unlock new Horizon sites. That's it. Don't overthink it.

Restoration, Worth Every Credit

At 85,000 CR and roughly 2-3 hours of real-time waiting, the E-Type is one of the cheapest barn finds to restore and I mean comically cheap. Compare that to the 250 GTO's 5 million CR restoration and it's basically free. You'll make the restoration cost back within your first hour of driving it if you're doing races. Fr.

Don't bother waiting the full restoration time. Just pay the 85K to skip the wait. By the time this barn find unlocks you should have enough credits from campaign events that 85K is pocket change. The car is worth 350,000 CR restored so you're still 265K ahead if you ever decide to sell it. Don't sell it though. It's a barn find, unique per save file. You sell it, it's gone forever.

Driving Impressions

The stock E-Type makes about 265 hp from its 3.8-liter inline-six which puts it solidly in D Class territory. I've put a bunch of miles on this thing and honestly it feels lighter than its 2,900-lb curb weight suggests. The steering is quick and communicative, the chassis has that classic British sports car balance where the rear rotates just enough on corner entry to help you point the nose. Very satisfying stuff.

But the stock tires? Kinda trash. They're period-correct bias-ply tires that give up grip progressively but they give up way too early. In D Class racing, upgrading to sport tires and race suspension completely transforms the car. Goes from a stylish cruiser to a legit competitor that can hang with Miatas and Civics on technical circuits. And the engine has decent tuning headroom too, with sport exhaust and intake you can push it to about 300 hp without breaking out of D Class. That's the sweet spot right there.
