FH6 All House Locations Guide — Which to Buy First

Player houses in Forza Horizon 6 are way more than cosmetic garage backdrops. Each one gives you a perk — sometimes a one-time reward, sometimes a permanent unlock that changes how the entire game plays. Some of these perks are borderline essential and buying the wrong house early can set you back millions. I made that mistake on my first playthrough. Bought the coolest looking house with no perk because it had a nice ocean view. Spent 2M credits and got nothing gameplay-wise. Felt real dumb. Don't do that.

Japan's FH6 map has about a dozen player houses scattered from the neon streets of the Tokyo-inspired city district all the way out to remote mountain retreats and coastal fishing villages. They range from a cheap 150K apartment to a multi-million yen traditional estate. Every single one has a reason to buy it — eventually. The question is order. I'm gonna rank them by priority so you know exactly what to spend your first credits on.

Most Important House — Buy This First

Lucky Bento Shop — ~150,000 CR

Perk: 5 Super Wheelspins upon purchase. Located in the western outskirts of the Osaka-inspired district, this tiny street-level shopfront is easy to miss. It's sandwiched between two larger buildings on a narrow side street. At 150K, the 5 Super Wheelspins it awards are worth at minimum 250K-500K in credits (statistically), and potentially millions if you hit rare cars. This is the highest ROI house in the game and should be your very first purchase. The Super Wheelspins alone typically pay for the house 3-5x over.

Free Fast Travel House — Game-Changer, Buy Second

Mount Fuji Viewpoint Lodge — 2,000,000 CR

Perk: Unlocks free fast travel to any road on the map. This is the single most important quality-of-life unlock in FH6. Without it, fast travel costs credits every single time — 5,000-10,000 CR per jump. With it, you teleport anywhere on roads you've discovered for free. The house is perched on a hillside in the Fuji-inspired mountain region on the west side of the map. You can see the snow-capped peak from the driveway. It's gorgeous but that's not why you're buying it.

2M is a lot early game. But here's the thing: it pays for itself. If you fast travel 20 times per session like most active players do, that's 100K-200K in fast travel fees per session you're saving. After about 10-15 hours of play the savings surpass the purchase cost. And it's permanent. Every character, every session, forever. The earlier you buy this, the more total credits it saves. If you can scrape together 2M within your first 10 hours, do it. Sell a Festival Playlist reward car if you have to. It's worth it.

Early Game Priority Houses

Osaka Studio Flat — 200,000 CR

Perk: 3 regular Wheelspins. Small apartment in the central city district, east side near the highway entrance. Not flashy but 3 wheelspins for 200K is statistically profitable. Buy this right after Lucky Bento Shop if you haven't saved 2M for the fast travel house yet.

Coastal Fishing Hut — 300,000 CR

Perk: Skill Songs unlocked — skill songs play on the radio and double your skill points earned. This is huge for skill point farming, which feeds into wheelspins through car mastery. Located on the southern coastline near the fishing village area, down a dirt path. Skill songs double your skill chain points, which means faster mastery unlocks, which means more wheelspins. If you're grinding skill points for car mastery trees, buy this house immediately.

Forest Shrine Retreat — 500,000 CR

Perk: Drone Mode unlocked. Hidden deep in the cedar forest region in the northwest section of the map. Drone Mode lets you fly a camera drone anywhere on the map, which makes finding barn finds, bonus boards, and hidden roads trivial. You can scout areas before driving there. It's a massive time saver and honestly kind of fun to just fly around the map. Worth 500K for the convenience alone.

Mid-Game Houses — Nice but Not Urgent

Shinjuku Penthouse — 1,500,000 CR

Perk: 2x Forzathon Points earned permanently. Top floor of a high-rise in the city center's neon district. The doubled Forzathon Points means you buy wheelspins and exclusive cars from the Forzathon Shop twice as fast. Excellent perk, but 1.5M is steep early on. Buy this after fast travel house if you regularly do Forzathon Live events.

Hot Springs Ryokan — 750,000 CR

Perk: Unlocks showcase remix events. Traditional Japanese inn with hot spring baths, located in the mountainous hot spring town area in the northeast. Showcase remixes are higher-difficulty versions of showcase events with better rewards. Not essential but if you like showcase races, the remixes are genuinely fun challenges and the rewards are solid.

Endgame Houses — Luxury Purchases

Imperial Palace Estate — 5,000,000 CR

Perk: 10 Super Wheelspins. Prestige unlock. The most expensive house in FH6. Massive traditional Japanese estate with koi ponds, cherry blossom gardens, and a 20-car garage display. Located in the exclusive hillside district on the east side of the map behind gated walls. The 10 Super Wheelspins are worth roughly 2-3M in expected value but you're paying 5M for the status symbol. Buy this when credits stop mattering and you want to flex.

Drift Mountain Garage — 1,200,000 CR

Perk: Unlocks drift camera angle options. Car enthusiast dream house built into the side of a mountain pass with its own private drift loop. Located on the famous touge road in the central mountain range. The drift camera lets you adjust chase cam angles specifically for drifting. Niche perk but if you're deep into the drifting scene it's actually useful for line visibility on tight hairpins.

What About Barn Find Houses?

Some players wonder if buying certain houses unlocks barn finds. In FH6, barn finds are tied to story progression and specific rumors that trigger after reaching certain campaign milestones. Houses don't directly unlock them. However, the Forest Shrine Retreat's Drone Mode makes finding barn finds infinitely easier since you can scout from above. If you're barn find hunting, that's the house that matters.
