FH6 Hidden Cars & Secrets — What Most Players Never Find
Applies to: All players | Spoiler level: Medium — hidden mechanics, not story reveals | Time to unlock all: 30-50 hours | Miss rate: 15 things, most players find 3-4
FH6 buries a surprising amount of content behind obscure triggers, hidden menus, and mechanics the tutorial never mentions. I've compiled everything I've found across 400+ hours, conversations with beta testers, and deep dives into game files. Some of these are genuine "how did anyone find this" secrets.
Hidden & Hard-to-Find Cars
Barn Finds — Complete List
| Car | Unlock Trigger | Location Hint |
|---|---|---|
| Ferrari 250 GTO | Complete 3 road racing series | Northwest jungle region, behind abandoned structure |
| Jaguar E-Type | Reach level 15 | Central farmland, near grain silo |
| Toyota 2000GT | Complete 5 street races | Eastern canyon road, hidden in overgrown lot |
| Ford Mustang Boss 302 | Win any drag race event | Airfield perimeter, inside old hangar |
| Porsche 356 Speedster | Take photo of 10 different cars | Coastal cliff area, near lighthouse ruins |
| Lamborghini Miura | Complete Horizon Apex chapter | Mountain pass, behind rock formation |
| Chevrolet Chevelle SS | Win 3 cross country events | Desert region, inside collapsed barn |
| Aston Martin DB5 | Reach level 30 | Guanajuato outskirts, hidden garage near tunnel |
Barn finds don't all appear at once. The radio announcement triggers when you meet the condition, then you need to drive to the approximate area on the map and find the barn. Some don't trigger until you've found the previous one in the sequence. The Porsche 356 in particular trips people up — you need 10 unique car photos, not 10 photos total.
Seasonal Exclusives — Mark Your Calendar
Seasonal playlist reward cars rotate every week and some only appear once every 3-4 months. The Ferrari 599XX Evolution appeared in week 3 and hasn't returned in 12 weeks. The Koenigsegg CCGT was a Week 1 exclusive that finally rotated back in Week 16. If you miss a seasonal car, check the auction house immediately after the season ends — sellers who completed the playlist often dump duplicates for cheap before prices spike.
Wheelspin Exclusives — The Rare List
These cars ONLY come from wheelspins. You cannot buy them from the Autoshow: BAC Mono (S1 track toy), Lotus Elise GT1 (S1 circuit weapon), Ferrari F40 Competizione (S2 classic — rarest wheelspin car in the game), Ariel Atom (S1 lightweight), Hoonigan RS200 (also from story progression, but wheelspin is faster), and the Cadillac Limousine (meme car but actually unreasonably rare). The F40 Competizione has roughly a 0.3% drop rate. I've opened over 400 wheelspins and gotten it once.
Hidden Features & Mechanics
Quick Photo Mode Shortcut
Double-tap up on the D-pad to enter photo mode instantly. No menu navigation needed. This is in the control scheme but the tutorial never highlights it. While in photo mode, press X to enter drone mode — it gives you free camera movement within 50 meters of your car, far more flexible than the standard photo mode angles. Great for scouting barn find locations from the air.
Fast Travel Trick
Fast travel costs 10,000 CR by default to any road you've discovered. But if you open the map and hover over a fast travel board you've smashed, fast travel to that specific board location is free. Smash all 50 boards and fast travel is free everywhere. More importantly, you can fast travel during events — open the map while paused in a race, fast travel to a board, and it resets your position to the checkpoint. This is a known exploit that skips terrible checkpoint placements on certain tracks.
Rewind Exploit for PR Stunts
Speed traps, speed zones, and danger signs record your best result even if you rewind mid-run. So for speed traps: approach at full speed, if you're off the line, rewind to before the trap, adjust your line, try again. You can rewind infinitely and the game only saves the successful run. This turns three-starring PR stunts from an exercise in frustration into a 2-minute job per stunt.
Convoy Teleport
If you're in a convoy and the convoy leader starts an event, everyone gets teleported to the start line regardless of map position. This works for Forzathon Live events, seasonal championships, and Horizon Tour. Join a convoy, wait for the leader to trigger the event, and you skip the drive. This is how speedrunners clear the seasonal playlist in under an hour.
Secret Game Mechanics
AI Rubberbanding — How It Actually Works
FH6's AI doesn't drive at a fixed pace. The game calculates a "target gap" based on your difficulty setting and position. If you're in first place with a lead larger than the target gap, the AI behind you gets a speed boost of up to 15%. If you're behind, the lead AI slows down to keep the gap at the target distance. This is why Unbeatable AI feels like it's cheating — because it literally is. The rubberbanding is most aggressive in the last 30% of the race. The exploit: stay in 2nd or 3rd place until the final 20% of the race, then overtake. The rubberband doesn't have enough distance left to pull the AI back to you.
Forzathon Point Multipliers — Stacking
Forzathon point multipliers stack multiplicatively, not additively. A 2x skill song multiplier times a 2x Forzathon Live multiplier gives 4x points. Owning the La Casa Solariega house unlocks a permanent 2x multiplier on all Forzathon events. Combined with a skill song, you're at 4x base rate. During double Forzathon point weekends (announced in seasonal updates), the stacking chain becomes 2x (house) x 2x (skill song) x 2x (weekend) = 8x points. A single Forzathon Live that normally pays 60 points pays 480 points. This is how some players have 10,000+ Forzathon points banked.
Hidden Drift Score Modifiers
Drift score multiplies by: car angle (more angle = more points, but caps at about 65 degrees), speed (faster drift = more points, optimal around 80-100 mph), proximity to walls (near-miss bonus when drifting close to barriers), and consecutive drift linking (no grip reset between corners = combo multiplier). But here's the hidden one: downhill drifts score 1.5x more points than flat drifts, and uphill drifts score 0.7x. The game calculates slope angle into the drift score formula and never tells you. The mountain hairpin section on the volcano road is the best drift zone in the game specifically because of the downhill modifier.
Secret Menu Settings
Hold LB + RB + View + Menu simultaneously for 3 seconds in the settings screen. This unlocks an advanced FFB panel on wheel setups with individual damper, friction, and inertia sliders that the normal menu hides. On controller, the same input combination unlocks deadzone adjustment down to 0.1% increments instead of the default 1% steps. Playground Games put this in for their QA team and never documented it publicly.
Easter Eggs & References
On the radio, the DJ occasionally references the "Storm Island" expansion from Horizon 2 — a hint that went unnoticed until the DLC was announced. The traffic cone on top of the tallest building in Guanajuato has a tiny smiley face painted on the bottom, visible only in photo mode drone camera. The license plate "PRSTG 1" appears on every Playground Games developer car in the game files, and there's a developer ghost car on the volcano sprint with that plate — beat it and you get a rare achievement that only 0.02% of players have unlocked.
The cargo plane that flies over the airfield drag strip every 23 minutes drops a supply crate if you're doing a danger sign jump at the exact moment it passes overhead. The crate contains a wheelspin and a unique horn that sounds like a plane flyby. This took the community three weeks to figure out after launch.
Hidden Paint & Material Options
When applying paint in the livery editor, press X while highlighting a paint type to access "special colors." This includes chrome (normal), polished metal (hidden), anodized aluminum (hidden), and three unique flip-paint colors (hidden — only available through this menu, not purchasable). The polished metal finish in particular makes any car look like a concept vehicle and almost nobody knows it exists.
