Dodge Viper ACR Tuning Guide — Best S1 Setup

The Viper ACR is my personal favorite S1 track car in FH6, bar none. Honestly this thing is a street-legal GT3 race car — a huge carbon-fiber wing, a manual gearbox, an 8.4-liter V10. Everything about it is brutal, but everything is also brutally efficient. At 1,530 kg it's light for a production car in track trim, and with that absurd factory aero kit it's so stable in high-speed corners you'd never guess it was American.
But this car has a famous "personality flaw": the Viper temper. The NA V10's torque curve has a sudden surge in the mid-range, and past 6,000 rpm the steering goes abnormally heavy and the tail stops listening. That's not a fault — that's the Viper asking "can you actually drive me?" The goal of tuning isn't to tame that wildness, it's to make it more controllable without killing its character.
Remember one thing: the Viper ACR is a track car, not a cruiser. Low-speed commuting and daily driving aren't its comfort zone. But once you're on track, the feeling this car gives you is something no other car can.

The track ACR build is my final setup after no fewer than 50 laps. A 9.2 handling rating is already top-tier for an S1 RWD car.
Detailed Tuning Parameters
Tire Pressure
Front 2.0 bar / Rear 1.9 bar. On track slicks, the rear pressure runs lower because the V10's torque can literally smoke the rears on corner exit — not a figure of speech, the literal thing.
Transmission
Final Drive Ratio: 4.10. The stock 6-speed manual moves from a 3.55 final drive to 4.10, making every gear pull harder out of corners.
Alignment
Toe: -0.2 front / 0.0 rear. Camber: -2.5 front / -2.0 rear. Caster: 7.5 degrees. The negative camber is very aggressive — because it's a pure track setup.
Anti-Roll Bars
Front 36.0 / Rear 28.0. The factory ACR bars are already stiff; going stiffer still keeps the body level through high-speed corners loaded with big-wing downforce.
Springs
Front 750 / Rear 680 (lbs/in). The ACR uses adjustable dampers from the factory; here I've fine-tuned the front-to-rear ratio.
Damping
Rebound 11.0 front / 10.0 rear, Bump 7.5 front / 7.0 rear. Runs stiff overall, suited to smooth tracks.
Aero
Front downforce medium-high, rear wing at max. This is the ACR's signature — that enormous carbon-fiber wing.
Brakes
Brake balance 47% front, Pressure 130%. The carbon-ceramic system itself is top-shelf.
Differential
Accel Lock 80% / Decel Lock 35%. The accel lock is very high — the Viper ACR needs both rear wheels absolutely synchronized when putting power down out of corners.
Driving Tips
The Viper ACR is a car that demands respect. It won't forgive your mistakes — too fast into a corner, too early on the throttle, too late on the brakes; make any one of them and it tells you the answer directly: a wall or a spin. But that's exactly its charm. On entry, use trail braking to shift weight forward and help the front tires turn in. Once you're past the apex, start feeding throttle progressively — don't just floor it, because the V10's torque will send you into the guardrail in 0.3 seconds. High-speed corners are where the whole car is most confident; the big wing makes the body rock-solid. One more thing — with the manual, shift at around 6,500 rpm; the V10 doesn't gain much power above 7,000. And in the rain, just leave this car in the garage.
